Preparing Our Resin Parts

These recommendations are intended for Iceman Collections resin parts only. We cannot guarantee the same results for resin parts purchased from other vendors.

Recommended Preparation

• Remove any flash, supports, or other unwanted material.
• Wash and rinse the parts with degreaser soap and water. Do not soak.
• Avoid hand soaps or other soaps that contain lotions, as they may interfere with primer and paint.
• Allow the parts to air dry completely, away from direct sunlight.
• Sand to remove layer lines and support marks as needed.
• Fill pinholes as needed.
• Wash and rinse the parts again after sanding and filling.
• Allow the parts to dry completely.
• Apply a quality primer before painting.
• Paint using the products and techniques of your choice.

Warped Parts

If a part is slightly warped, the warm-water method can usually help restore it to shape. Do not attempt to force a part back into shape without warming it first, as this may cause it to snap.

Tacky Parts

It is extremely rare for a part to feel slightly tacky after cleaning. If this occurs, allow the part to dry completely, then place it in direct sunlight for 5–7 minutes.
